Congratulations Andrew + Lesley

At the weekend I enjoyed documenting Andrew and Lesley’s wedding day at The Old Courts in Wigan town center. The ceremony was to begin at 1.15pm so I arrived in good time to get a parking space and get some photos of the venue and surrounding area. It also gave me the opportunity to prep for the arrival of Andrew and wedding guests. The registrars arrived nice and early too so I could make sure that they didn’t have any specific rules with regards to the photography…which they didn’t!

Lesley arrived a little before 1.15pm so she could run through the legalities before it all kicked off but as quickly as she arrived she was just as quickly making her way down the aisle as family and friends watched on. Andrew and his trusted Best man, Malcolm were waiting patiently at the front as Bridesmaids and Flower girls came in first followed by Lesley and her Son. The wedding ceremony was lovely which included personal vows and once rings were exchanged and the signing of the register was complete the new Mr & Mrs Wooton were making their back up the aisle as Husband and Wife.

I arranged everyone outside the entrance to the building to conduct a confetti shot with the help of those who had confetti 🙂 I love this photo as it’s so relaxed and fun! Straight afterwards we cracked on and swiftly made our way through the suggested group list I offer to all my clients which give a short time-frame on how long it is going to take…we spent apx 15 minutes doing these formals and it was onto documenting the afternoon’s celebrations in a candid and unobtrusive manor.

It was a very pleasant and highly enjoyable afternoon which involved plenty of balloons getting lost to the high ceilings inside the venue. Once a turn around of the main room was complete the newly weds were officially invited in to an eruption of noise and cheering. They took their seats and started the wedding breakfast which were before the speeches, this gave me time to chill out, hydrate (especially as temperatures soared to 30+°C) and check over what I had captured to date!

The speeches involved Andrew and Malcolm which generally covered stories growing up and thanking people for their attendance. After I spoke with Andrew and Lesley to suggest heading out around 8pm as the sun will lower and it will give them even more time with their family and friends.

When we did head out we didn’t go too far, just around the corner and back was enough for the newly weds So I made the most of it! I got some cracking shots and they just chatted away and seemed to have enjoyed themselves 🙂 Once we were done it was all downhill to the cutting of the cake and because they opted not to do a first dance it meant once the final formality was complete I headed off to leave everyone in peace.

I had such an amazing time capturing it all and I hope Andrew, Lesley and their family and friends did too. I will be editing the day’s photographs very soon, but for now please enjoy these sneak peek shots.

Thanks…
