Congratulations Danny + Sarah

On Saturday I had the absolute privilege of playing a part in Danny & Sarah’s Wedding day at Haigh Hall Hotel, Wigan. I was so excited to get going again after a short break since my first wedding of 2019.

So the morning arrived and I was heading up to Sarah’s Mum’s home to capture the preparations. The girls were getting their hair and make-up done and after a couple of documented shots I began to capture those smaller details which included photos of the wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, etc. The wedding flowers were created by ‘AM’ flowers’. It was such a relaxed and chilled out morning which I loved but before I knew it the wedding transport had turned up and the Bridesmaids were coming downstairs all dressed and ready to go. Before I left however I did manage to get shots of the wedding dress reveal which was awesome!

Danny was outside the Church as I arrived with his Best man and a number of family and friends. I hadn’t actually met Danny until the day but it felt like we had as I introduced myself and we briefly exchanged pleasantries! The time had come for Danny to head in and take his seat whilst the Bridal party started to arrive. We were slightly delayed as Sarah accidentally forgot her bouquet although it did make for great photos as her Brother, Scott headed to the house to pick them up and to be honest it adds to the story of the day 🙂

The ceremony was lovely as I documented it from start to finish with one formality which was the signing of the register. The happy couple, now Mr & Mrs Sedgwick were making their way past family and friends back up the aisle together and before heading outside I arranged everyone for a confetti shot which I feel is one of the best shots of the day! Once finished we then all headed up to Haigh Hall Hotel for the afternoon’s celebrations.

I completed the formal groups as soon as I could as I wanted to get into the wedding breakfast room before the wedding guests were officially announced in to take their seats. I couldn’t believe after all of these years and with the number of ‘Wigan’ weddings I have been part of, I finally got to take photos of a wedding cake which was a pie #mademyyear. It smelled soooo good too!!! The room was decorated by ‘Impress your guests’.

The speeches were after the meal so I had time to run through the shots I had done during this period. Sarah’s Brother had the proudest moment in sharing words about his beautiful Sister on her wedding day as he begun the speeches. Danny followed and finally his Best man with a speech which made me laugh and slightly cringe, lol!

So the evening was upon us and I had one last thing to do before we moved into the last formality of the day. I invited the happy couple outside and around the venue’s stunning grounds as we did the more intimate photos which included a wonderful backdrop of Wigan. Danny and Sarah both seemed to have enjoyed themselves which is always good to see 🙂

It was time for the first dance and as Jon Kane the DJ announced the newlyweds into the room everyone erupted with noise and then the music began. I had such a wonderful day capturing it all and I hope Danny and Sarah along with their family and friends had a memorable one!

I have included a few sneak peek shots from the day 🙂

Enjoy…
